In today’s episode of ‘ A Quick Look’ , we take you on a journey into the life of legendary actress and 'scandal-full', Tonto Dikeh. Tonto who is 33 years of age, born on the 9th June 1985, in Port-Harcourt, is one of Africa’s most prolific actress and entertainer in general. Over the years, she has climbed her way to the top and earned her laurels. She can be classified as an A-List Nollywood actress and of course, a top entertainer in Africa. With over 3 million fans on Instagram and many others across her Social Media account, she is one of the most-followed celebrity in Africa.

Tonto Dikeh's Biography [caption id="attachment_249128" align="aligncenter" width="297"] Tonto Dikeh's biography[/caption] The popular actress, whose full name is Tonto Wigo Charity, was born in Port Harcourt, River State on June 9, 1985. She grew up in a polygamous family of 10, with 4 younger ones and 2 elder siblings. Tonto Charity lost her mother to the cold hands of death at a very tender age of 3; hence, she was raised by her dad and stepmother. Her pet names include Poko, King Tonto, Tontolets and so on.

This beautiful actress is a River state native of Igbo descent. Her tribe, the Ikwerre tribe, is an ethnic group under the general Igbo tribe, with similar cultural and linguistic components. As a result of this, she is widely regarded as an Igbo lady.

Tonto is a well educated lady, who has chosen a completely different line of work from what she was originally trained for in the University. She is a trained and certified Petro-Engineer. She attended her home state’s University, River State University of Science and Technology, where she obtained her degree in Petrochemical Engineering.

Despite being an Engineer by training, she auditioned for TV Reality Show; Next Movie Star. She was picked for show and she went on to win the prize for second position. Her performance during the reality show served as the Spring board of her acting career.

She opted for a career in showbiz, with debuts in acting (her core specialization), music, modelling and philanthropy. Of these, her acting career has, without doubt, stood her out to become one of the most prominent celebrity figures in Nigeria and Africa at large. She has gone on to feature in multitude of movies, over the course of her career in Nollywood.

The movie which shot her to prominence, was the movie titled, Dirty Secret. Dirty Secret was released in 2010 and the movie illustrated many controversial and illicit scenes, many of which are adult-graded (18+). The controversy that trailed the movie generated a significant attention for Tonto Dikeh, who featured as the main character in the movie.

Tonto Dikeh's Ex Husband [caption id="attachment_204420" align="aligncenter" width="638"] Tonto Dikeh and Churchill[/caption] Tonto got married about three years ago, to Olusegun Obasanjo’s nephew, Olakunle ‘Big Church’ Churchill. However, the marriage lasted only 2 years. The couple divorced in 2017 and they have a kid between them.

Tonto Dikeh's Wedding : How Her Marriage Ended In Divorce [caption id="attachment_204424" align="aligncenter" width="369"] Tonto Dikeh and ex husband, Churchill[/caption] The screen diva has been married only once, so far. She got married to her estranged hubby, Olakunle Churchill, at a traditional wedding event in 2015. Olakunle Churchill is a known big boy, who resides in Lagos. Rumours have it that, he met Tonto Dikeh at a Night Club in Lagos and the rest is history. Shortly after, they got engaged and eventually became married to each other.

About a year and half into Olakunle and Tonto’s marriage, their union headed for the storms. Tonto Dikeh accused Olakunle of infidelity and wife battery. She even alleged that, Churchill infected her with a Sexually Transmitted Disease. Churchill, on the other hand, denied all these allegations and in his defence, claimed Tonto is a liar and a disrespectful wife. The marriage eventually ended in divorce.

However, despite the unfortunate divorce of the couple, there exist one binding element; the only child the marriage produced, King Andre.

Tonto gave birth to the baby boy in February, 2016. The boy was named Omodayo Igo ‘King Andre’ Churchill. The boy is today, two and half years old.

Despite the arrival of the King Andre, the imminent separation his parents was unstoppable. The couple divorced around mid 2017 and Tonto was granted custody of the baby, King Andre. The court decision stood well with Churchill.

Earlier this year, Churchill went through the stress of securing a court injunction, to stop Tonto from featuring their son in her reality show. This is one of many of their post-marital feuds.

Tonto Dikeh's Tattoos Tonto is notorious for her love for tattoos and she is not one to shy away from revealing her body arts. According to many sources, Tonto has in excess of close to 60 tattoos on her body.
