Hilda Baci, a well-known Nigerian chef, talks about how her attempt to break the record for the longest cooking marathon was met with criticism due to claims that she was too blessed.
Hilda said that some individuals did not appreciate her success because they thought she was “too blessed.”
Recall that she recently broke the record for the longest continuous cooking session with 100 hours, beating Lata Tandon of India’s previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes.
However, despite her achievement, Hilda’s attempt is currently undergoing review by Guinness World Records for certification.
During her appearance as a guest on the latest episode of the ‘I Said What I Said’ Podcast; Hilda Baci revealed that many individuals were dissatisfied with her endeavor due to feelings of intimidation caused by her beauty, skills, and charisma.
“There were a lot of ‘It’s not fairs’, like, ‘how can only her be fine, be hot, ah ah. How can only her have all these things? That’s not how life is,” the renowned chef stated.
On the speculations that she paid massively for publicity, Hilda said, “The PR that we invested in, how much, how many was it? The kind of earned media that the attempt got, you can not pay for it. You can’t plan for it, you can’t pay it. It’s grace. You can only hope.”
She further addressed the general experience of cooking for such a long period and taking instructions from her team.
