Richest Nigerian musicians : The Nigerian music industry is one of the biggest revenue generating industries in Africa in recent times. In the past, musicians were seen as people without a future and every parent would do anything to have their children study professional courses like Medicine, Engineering, Law etc. More.. Today the music industry boasts of a very heterogenous structure. Graduates like Dr. Sid who studied Dentistry, sons and daughters of billionaires like Davido, Dj Cuppy and most recently Antonio Deinde Fernandez' daughter now contend actively for the glory and limelight that music brings.

Even those from not very notable financial backgrounds like the Legendary 2face Idibia and many others have made their mark in the industry.

Now lets move on to the crux of the matter, who are the richest Nigerian musicians, how are they rated and by what standard?

Last year, Forbes Africa in conjunction with Channel O came up with a list of some of the wealthiest Nigerian stars, using numerous factors like endorsements, internet presence, performances etc. Today we are taking an indepth look into the industry to present to you the wealthiest Nigerian musicians and their luxurious lifestyles.

D'BANJ

Born Dapo Oyebanjo, D'banj has carved a niche for himself in the music industry both locally and globally. The G.O.O.D music artiste, brand ambassador to many African top companies, Owner of DB records and most recently 'ONE" ambassador for agriculture is no doubt one of the wealthiest African musicians and is rated the highest paid Nigerian star ever.

The Oliver Twist crooner who always tries to make a statement with both his appearance and lifestyle, shocked the industry last year when he stepped on stage at the Eko Hotel for his DKM concert wearing a suit made partially from $100 bills. The suit was said to have cost a whopping sum of $25,000.

D'banj went on to disclose in an interview that he wears the same wrist watch with American president Barrack Obama and rapper Jay-z. The watch was said to be worth $50,000 at the time. He also has a 35 million Naira worth Aston Martin as part of his collections.

DON JAZZY

Michael Collins Enebuwa aka Don Jazzy was former co-owner of defunct Mohits' record with D'banj. He is currently the owner of Mavin Records, telecommunication giant MTN ambassador, Loya Milk ambassador and many others.

The producer who to some is the African version of Dr. Dre, is the brain behind the monster hit "Oliver Twist" and was part of the production team of Jay-z and Kanye West' "Lift Off" featuring Beyonce.

The Mavin boss once shared a photo of his Porsche Carrera GT on twitter. The car is worth over $440,000 that's about N70m.

He was sipping the the world's most expensive Champagne at one time too.

The Champagne Goût de Diamants‘ “Taste of Diamonds” is worth N250m.

P-SQUARE

The super twins are not just anybody in the music industry, the duo have been releasing hits since their first album "Last Nite" was released.

They currently have a running contract with Universal, they have been Glo ambassadors for a while and their concerts are sold out everytime.

The duo who featured American rapper Rick Ross in the hit song "Onyinye" remix, where rumoured to have acquired a private jet at a time.

P-Square owns mansions around Lagos and recently acquired a new home in Texas.

2FACE IDIBIA

The legendary 2face has grown from the African Queen singing star to an international superstar. The Singer who was recently featured in T-pain's "If I got it" with Akon remains one of the wealthiest Nigerian musicians.

The owner of Rumours night clubs both in Ikeja and Festac has sold millions of his records, associated with airtel worldwide and a guest at top political functions. Amongst the gifts he received at his wedding was a red Chevrolet worth over 47 Million Naira.

WIZKID

You may call him the wonder or golden boy of Nigerian music. The EME artiste who is the CEO of Starboi is also affiliated with Disturbing London. He is the highest paid Pepsi ambassador in Africa and also the most sought after Nigerian artiste.

The singer who bashed his porsche worth over N40m and replaced it within 2 weeks last year is really living his financial dreams.

KCEE

Five star records owner and former member of the defunct group KC Presh is a fast rising financial contender in the industry.

The MTN ambassador and Limpopo crooner has stopped at nothing to showcase his love for expensive Jewelries and cars. He uses every opportunity to flaunt them both on Instagram and Twitter. Kcee's Range Rover Sport and Bentley are both worth 15 Million naira each.

DAVIDO

David broke every music protocol with his hit single "Dami Duro". The son of a wealthy socialite was seen as a money bag when he first made major headlines. Davido hasn't stopped though many attribute it to his fathers wealth.

The Omo baba olowo (Child of a wealthy man) as he fondly calls himself has continued to churn out hit songs.

He is also an MTN ambassador and is not left out in the purchase of luxury cars and homes.

The Pop Singer recently displayed his 25 karat gold customised iphone.

The list is endless and with new artistes making ground breaking progress, the show off and luxurious lifestyle of these stars seems to be getting into a competitive mode.
