Jehovah’s Witnesses: When it comes to religious beliefs, for the most part people want to live and let live. Some people believe that religion is outdated while others find it’s more relevant and important today than it has in centuries. Within Christian beliefs there are many different sects that all manage to interpret the teachings of the Bible much differently from one another.

Jehovah’s Witness believe in Jesus Christ, but they don’t believe He was God in the flesh. They actually believe He was the archangel Michael. They also firmly believe that Jesus already returned in secret in 1917, though the Bible clearly teaches that He will return in a manner everyone will know. They also believe only 144,000 can be saved and they have already been chosen.
Even though it differs from much of what the Christian Bible teaches, there are many devout followers to this day, including numerous celebrities. Jehovah’s Witnesses don’t celebrate birthdays, Christmas, and many other holidays, and it’s interesting to see just which celebrities follow or followed this faith at one time.
20. Luke Evans
Luke Evans has seen his star rise in recent years, especially for his role in The Hobbit, and he recalled that it wasn’t always easy growing up as a Jehovah’s Witness. However, he credits that upbringing for helping to prepare him for rejection later in life. “[O]n Saturday mornings you’d be knocking at their doors,” he once said. “I remember standing there with my mum and dad thinking, ‘Oh my God, I know whose door this is, and I’ll have to see them on Monday.’ It was terrible.” He said that having doors slammed in his face prepared him for rejection. He left school and the religion when he was 16 to pursue his singing career.
19. Janet Jackson
Like her older brother Michael, Janet was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness, but she had plenty of strife with her family during her young adult years and it’s no real surprise that she is no longer practicing the religion. Janet managed to climb out from under the shadow of her older brother and build a wonderful career for herself as a musician, singer, and even fashion designer. The 49-year-old continues to live life on her terms and she seems to be more than content to do so.
