One of the most famous death of the year 2013. The former South African President who led the country out of apartheid, died after a long struggle with cancer on Dec. 5, 2013, at the age of 95. Nelson Mandela served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. He was South Africa’s first black chief executive, and the first elected in a fully representative democratic election. He was kept in prison for 28 years because of fighting for human equality in South Africa.
