The movie star, businesswoman and inspiration for the development of synchronized Olympic swimming , Esther Williams died at the age of 91. Williams put bathing beauty, in the dictionary. She set multiple national and regional swimming records in her late teens as part of the Los Angeles Athletic Club swim team. She denied to compete in the 1940 Summer Olympics because of the outbreak of World War II. She died in her sleep on June 6, 2013, in her Los Angeles home.
