Mohammed VI became the King of Morocco in 1999 after the death of his father. He inherited around 40 percent stake in SNI, a large, formerly state-owned Moroccan investment company. SNI has controlling stakes in Attijariwafa, the largest bank in Morocco; Managem Group, a mining company; Consumar, a sugar company; Centrale Laitiere, dairy firm; and other assets. Forbes estimated his net worth at $2.1 billion.
