Formerly successful celebs: Celebrities can sometimes get so comfortable in the life of luxury that the thought of potentially going broke and not able to make somewhat of a comeback could potentially be the same for them. For these ten celebrities, making a comeback is out of the question since their actions have scraped them out of Hollywood for good.

From reality stars to musicians, it is shocking to think that under a decade ago, they were at the top of their game, only to find themselves struggling to make anybody care about their career moves. While it’s shocking for the declining fans to see their favorite stars fall from their Hollywood stardom like this, it must be even harder for those who are actually experiencing it. It should be noted that while not all of these celebrities are broke, this list purely focuses on celebrities who have past their prime and simply cannot make a comeback for reasons listed in each section. 10. Heidi and Spencer Pratt Following the cancelation of MTV’s The Hills , its former stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, have desperately attempted to keep their career afloat, but the fact that nobody even remembers them already gives the idea that a comeback is unlikely. The last time Heidi and Spencer had little relevancy surrounding themselves was when the couple entered Celebrity Big Brother UK — when they left, they were named the most hated duo to have ever entered the house by the British public. So not only are they hated in America, the UK doesn’t seem to like them either.

9. Nelly Having dominated the charts in the early 2000s with hits including Dilemma and My Place , it is shocking to know that Nelly can no longer produce chart-topping hits the way he used to. The rapper released his last album M.O back in 2013, and the fact that the record only sold 13,000 copies in its first-week, makes it very apparent just how much of an appeal the 40-year-old has with the new generation. None. Nelly plans on going independent for his next album, but what’s the point? If only 13,000 copies were sold in the first week for the last one, one can only imagine how much the next one will sell seeing that it will be independently released without a record label’s backing.

8. Pussycat Dolls Pussycat Dolls quickly became one of the biggest girl groups during their time. Having only lasted for four years as a group, PCD were on top of the world, having released two albums which both spanned multiple hits. Their two albums were also certified platinum within less than half of a year since their release, showing great signs that there was nothing stopping this group — except for lead singer Nicole Scherzinger. The 37-year-old was desperate to part ways with the group, convinced that she was the star and deserved a solo career of her own. Having gone her own way, the group disbanded and Nicole went on to start her own project. Unfortunately, all three albums she has released since splitting from the band have flopped drastically. She’s also said to have been dropped by Epic Records following the last disaster that was her third studio album.

7. Keri Hilson Keri Hilson had a great career in songwriting. She was writing hits for many stars, including Britney Spears. Sadly, all of that changed when Keri would go on to record a diss song against Beyonce, claiming that Hilson had written a majority of the 34-year-old’s music, stressing that Bey is old and needs to sit down while Keri takes over. Of course, that never happened. In fact, Keri’s career soon ended after making those outrageous comments. The singer has not released any new music since 2010, when her sophomore No Boys Allowed hit stores with disappointedly low sales.

6. Ciara Ciara came into the music industry with an edge. Having presented herself as a tomboy with a huge desire in dancing, the 18-year-old at the time presented herself to be very diverse during her come-up days in 2004. Hit after hit, Ciara seemed unstoppable as she began featuring on other artists’ songs, including former boyfriend Bow Wow. Fast forward to 2015, and seeing Ciara chart on the Billboard Hot 100 anywhere above the top 40 is very unlikely. Having only shifted 19,000 copies of her latest album Jackie , with each album she has released, it seems that they decrease every single time. Jackie has been named her weakest work to date and the sales prove that. The fans that Ciara still has are worried that their idol could potentially face the drop from her record label since she has become less marketable with every new record she releases.

5. Lil Mama Lil Mama had somewhat of a promising career when she made her debut in 2006 with her famous song ‘Lip Gloss.’ The track instantly took off and was even considered to have been the summer anthem of the year. Two years later, Lil Mama would go on to ruin her career forever. The rapper thought it was smart to jump on stage with Jay-Z and Alicia Keys during their VMA performance of Empire State of Mind, in 2009. Jay-Z’s fans were livid, starting petitions to boycott Mama’s music and by the looks of things, it seems to have worked. The 25-year-old has struggled to regain the success she had nine years ago, making a possible comeback very unlikely.

4. Ja Rule Ja Rule was considered to have been one of the hottest rappers in music during the early 2000s thanks to his affiliation with Jennifer Lopez, Ashanti and his Murda Inc. artists. Rule was an unstoppable beast in his own right, having broken world records for most consecutive top ten songs from one album to consecutive singles going multi-platinum in one year. He had it all. But after 2005, Rule’s career began to slow down and by the time 2007 came, nobody even spoke of the rapper no more. After spending two years behind bars, 2014 was supposed to have seen his big comeback, but for whatever reason, the new album has been delayed with no actual release date on when he plans on unveiling it to his handful of remaining fans.

3. LeAnn Rimes Many don’t even remember that LeAnn Rimes was once a respectable and credible country artist in the late 90s. She was somewhat similar to the person that Taylor Swift is to the younger generation today. But all of that changed when LeAnn went on to record songs that seemed very unlike her — having started to drift away from the sound that made her famous, people lost interest which led to Rimes’ career downfall. A couple of years later after failing to make any sort of chart impact, LeAnn would go on to cheat on her husband with Eddie Cibrian, who was also married at the time. The scandal became so big, it even overshadowed her own career. The fans that stayed with LeAnn after she reinvented herself in the music industry, had ditched her after it was confirmed she had been having an affair with a married man who she would then go on to marry.

2. Paris Hilton Paris Hilton must be fuming over the fact that her former ‘bestie’ Kim Kardashian completely stole her spotlight and her money. Thanks to Kim, Paris Hilton struggled in competing against Keeping Up With the Kardashians when the socialite’s own show began airing on Oxygen to a measly audience of 600,000 viewers — that is 2 million less than the viewers Kim gets for her show. Furthermore, the public interest for the Kardashians compared to the Hiltons is unbelievably large, to the point where it’s fair to say that Kim is much more popular than Paris. But aside from popularity, Paris hasn’t been doing too well in keeping her name alive. Having made a name for herself through reality television and being the socialite everybody wanted to be friends with, things have evidently changed over the years where the name ‘Paris Hilton’ brings boredom to one’s face these days.

1. Lindsay Lohan Lindsay Lohan had one of the most promising careers in Hollywood. Following her outstanding performance in the hilarious film Mean Girls , the world was obsessed with the actress who had shown herself as somewhat of a Hollywood star that was here to stay. Having started to bank up close to $7 million per movie, Lindsay was on fire… and so was her party lifestyle. She began to mix in with the wrong crowd and began choosing the club over her work, which eventually led to her being fired from big movies. It gave her an even worse reputation when reports claimed Lindsay had been dealing with drug substances for years. Casting agencies began to avoid the actress at all costs, feeling that she had lost the spark she once had. Today, Lindsay Lohan is lucky to bag $100,000 per movie, let alone anything.
