APC uncovers plots against Amaechi – The Rivers state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised alarm of an alleged plot by the state government against former governor Rotimi Amaechi.

In a statement by Chris Finebone, the APC publicity secretary in the state, the party said it has uncovered plans by the state government to formulate a false damaging report against Amaechi, Vanguard reports.
According to Finebone, the fabricated report was aimed at damaging the rising profile of Amaechi.
The party called on Nigerians to ignore such reports whenever they surface in the media.
He said: “The plan of Governor Nyesom Wike and some elements within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is to blackmail Amaechi and portray him as corrupt as well as putting him in bad light before the public.”
This allegation comes after the APC reacted to claims by Governor Nyesom Wike that Rotimi Amaechi will be probed, which it describe as a wild goose chase.
Governor Wike had earlier accused Rotimi Amaechi of handing over an empty treasury to him.
