Manchester United footballer Rooney married his high school sweetheart in 2008. The ceremony was an intimate, small wedding with just 8 guests, plus a handful of reporters from a magazine that offered the couple $2.5 million to take their wedding photos. The ceremony was broken up into two stages; the first part of the celebration took place in a 330-year-old villa beneath a Louis XVI chandelier and continued in the Riviera resort of Santa Margherita Ligure at a 17th century Villa. Family members were flown in on a private jet and the bride traveled to the ceremony by a luxury yacht.
