6. Maroon 5
Rock/pop band Maroon 5 is known for their music all around the world. Plus, they’ve got a pretty hot frontman in Adam Levine, which certainly doesn’t hurt their brand. What does hurt Maroon 5’s brand, however, is when one of the band members Tweets offensive things about the Dalai Lama. Jesse Carmichael, the band’s keyboard player, Tweeted “happy birthday to his holiness” as a tribute to the Dalai Lama on his birthday. However, China hasn’t had a great relationship with this well-known figure, as he has been in exile in India since 1959. It was also reported that Carmichael attended the 80th birthday celebration for the Dalai Lama. Two of the band’s concerts in China were cancelled. Interesting.
