Keeping Up with the Kardashians Reality Show The first season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians began with the family drama of Kim’s sex tape release, and whether or not Kim will appear on the Tyra Banks Show to talk about it. The American reality television show has been on the air since 2007, and it is about the lives of the Kardashian-Jenner family. Kris Jenner pitched her idea to executive producer and long time friend Ryan Seacrest, about creating a show which films the lives of her family. 10. Kris Jenner’s Talk Show Once upon a time Kris Jenner thought she should have her own talk show. Titled Kris, the show was picked up by Fox with a six-week trial before deciding if it will be picked up for a full season. Apparently Kris believed that people were interested in a talk show that didn’t include her family, but the ratings showed otherwise. Kris Jenner’s attempt at her own talk show was just another notch on her Kardashian Empire belt, though Kris fails to admit she started her talk show for anything but to add more dollar bills to the Kardashian-Jenner name. Even worse, as an attempt to raise ratings for her failing show, Kris Jenner invited Kanye West on the season finale where he revealed the first photo of him and Kim’s first child North West, a picture paparazzi and magazines were dying to get. 9. Using North West For Ratings Before her show even aired, Kris Jenner teased the media about whether her granddaughter North West will appear on the premiere of her talk show. North West, daughter of Kim and Kanye, is one of many celebrity babies that the world just couldn’t wait to see, and Kris Jenner made sure she was involved. As promotion for her show, Kris knew that by hinting that granddaughter North would make an appearance, people would tune in to watch, especially since Kim and Kanye had been very careful about their daughter being photographed. On top of all that, Kris waited for the finale of her talk show to debut her granddaughter, a calculated move on her part, because people not only kept tuning in to see if North would make an appearance, but the picture debut also helped with gaining more ratings for her talk show. 8. Kim’s Playboy Shoot As if a sex tape wasn’t enough, in 2007 Kim Kardashian was featured in Playboy magazine. In an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians titled “Birthday Suit,” we see Kim struggling about whether or not to pose nude for the cameras (again). Playboy magazine gets in contact with “momager”Kris Jenner to ask if Kim would be interested in posing nude for them. While Kim hesitates, Kris Jenner pushes her daughter into doing the shoot. Also seen in this episode, Kim and Kris switch roles for the day and Kim decides to play manager with her mom and makes her do a nude shoot, giving her a taste of her own medicine. 7. Name Dropping There once was a time where Kris Jenner no longer wanted to be a Jenner. Kris used to be a Kardashian, but then divorced her first husband and married Bruce Jenner (now known as Caitlyn Jenner) in 1991. When the Kardashian name took off and was now a name everyone recognized, Kris thought it would only make sense if she changed her last name back to Kardashian, poor Bruce! In season 6 of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the episode shows that the reason Kris wants to change her name is for branding purposes (nice). The matriarch of the Kardashian Empire saw it fit that she should also bare the same name as the money making last name, but upsetting her family, she decided to stay a Jenner. 6. Kendall’s Sexy Santa Shoot It goes without saying that anything the Kardashian-Jenner women do has to be approved by their “momager” Kris Jenner. So it comes as no surprise to see newly legal daughter Kendall Jenner pose for a racy shoot for Love magazine’s online calendar. Kendall Jenner is slaying the fashion game, and at 19 years old, the young model poses in sexy lingerie wearing barely anything but a Santa hat, and straddling good ol’ Saint Nick. Kendall Jenner is not the first of Kris’ army of beautiful daughters to pose almost nude for a magazine. This shoot came hot off the shelves not long after Kim’s nude Internet breaking shoot for Paper magazine. Four Episode Special Leave it to the Kardashians to get a special season before the premiere of season 11 of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. This year, the biggest buzz around the Kardashians was their stepfather Bruce Jenner (now known as Caitlyn Jenner) coming out as a transgender. After Caitlyn’s Vanity Fair spread and television series about her journey, the Kardashians showed their side of the story and Kris Jenner’s struggle, with a four episode special centered on the recent news. Kocktails With Khloé It looks like Khloé Kardashian hasn’t learned from mom Kris Jenner’s failed attempt at a talk show. The youngest of the Kardashian sisters got the green light for her own talk show this year. Breaking away from reality television, Khloé’s new show is said to be a dinner party with a bunch of famous people. The reality star will be hosting dinner parties with the help of famous guests who help her prepare her meal, and she also promises fun games! We can’t decided if this is Kris Jenner’s attempt at being part of a successful talk show, which she failed at, or if the Kardashian Klan needs to prove to the world that they do cook their own meals (sometimes…for TV purposes). 3. In the Kitchen With Kris Speaking of cooking, Kris Jenner came out with her very own cookbook in 2014. The book titled In the Kitchen With Kris , didn’t do very well in both sales and reviews. It doesn’t come as a surprise that a cookbook by a woman who is rarely seen cooking on television would hold any credibility. At some point in her life Kris Jenner must have spent some time in the kitchen, but being the great “momager” she is, it seems highly impossible she has any time to cook a meal. Trademarking ‘Momager’ The world knows that Kris Jenner is the ultimate manager to her six children. Creating an empire and a name that everybody recognizes, Kris Jenner doesn’t think that it’s enough. Not only do the Kardashians rule everything around them, but also, Kris Jenner feels that she should hold the rights to the word “momager.” A word used to describe the 59-year-old matriarch; “momager” has been associated with Kris Jenner ever since the rise of her family’s success. This summer, Kris Jenner filed legal documents to trademark the word, if accepted, it would mean that anyone who uses the word without permission could get sued. 1. Playboy ‘s Last Nude Cover Incase you haven’t heard, Playboy is seeking out candidates to pose for their final nude cover EVER! While Playboy has been the go-to magazine showcasing nude photos of women since the 1950s, the decision has been made that it will no longer feature nudity in the U.S. Why? CEO Scott Flanders said that the Internet is an outlet where people can find far more explicit photos than those of the magazine, making what it centers around “passé.” Kim Kardashian showed interest in being a contender for the cover, but then Kris Jenner chimed in saying that the entire Kardashian-Jenner Klan, including Caitlyn Jenner, should pose nude for the final cover, as if one family cover shoot wasn’t enough! For Cosmopolitan ’s 50 th anniversary issue, all the Kardashian-Jenner women, including Kris Jenner herself front and center, were featured on the magazine’s cover.
