48. Iyanya – Applaudise
Iyanya has found his sweet spot in Nigerian music, and is milking it till the tap runs dry. This classic wedding song is featured on Iyanya’s 3rd album with the same title, and utilizes traditional highlife melodies, and sounds. It’s what Iyanya does best, and he did it well on this one.
47. Timaya – Sanko Remix ft. Destra
Yes we know Sanko was a hit in 2014, but when soca queen, Destra, jumped on the remix, it extended the time this tune stayed buzzing. This version of the song was so good, you wondered if it would’ve been better if this was the actual original. Either way you see it though, it’s still a very hot tune, and gave Timaya some extended buzz well into 2015.
46. Adekunle – Sade
The first of Adekunle Gold’s string of 2015 hits, Sade, gave a new style to what Nigerian love songs can sound like. It was technically a cover to One Direct’s “Story of My Life”, but you’d be forgiven if you prefer this version. The song took Adekunle Gold to a much higher status, and it was just beginning of a fantastic 2015 for the YBNL signee.
