Deleted celebrity tweets: We’ve all been there. That heart thudding moment when we realize a picture that was meant to be private was accidentally posted on the newsfeeds of thousands of our followers. Or that tweet which we thought was hysterical at the time turned out to be quite inappropriate in the light of day. Unfortunately for celebs, their tweets live on even after their deletion. Lucky for us, they provide us with an ample amount of entertainment for years.

While many celebrities claim hackers are to blame for their regretted and often insensitive tweets, the unlucky few who’ve sent their private photos out into the twitter-sphere have a more difficult time shifting the blame. Even thirty seconds on twitter is enough to give a topless photo immortality.
10. Anthony Weiner’s Weiner
In late May of 2011, New York congressman Anthony Weiner accidentally tweeted a faceless photo of himself in boxers with an impressive…ummm…package. Meant to be sent in a private message to a 21-year-old college student in Seattle, Weiner perpetually denied the allegations, and insisted the photo was posted by a hacker. It’s not until more scandalous photos are released which reveal his face that he admits to using social media to have sex-based conversations with several young women.
While he claimed to have never had any physical contact with these women, he did admit to not knowing how old they were when he spoke to them. When one ended up being a 17-year-old from Delaware, he was forced to resign. While technically what he did wasn’t illegal, the fact that his wife of less than a year was carrying their child and Weiner’s obvious obsession with much younger women turned the public against him, and he has yet to live down his decisions.
