11. Aaron Spelling’s Skating Rink
Beverly Hills, 90210’s late producer Aaron Spelling built a luxury house called The Manor in 1988 in place of a demolished Bing Crosby home in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles. This spread has a 123-room house sprawling over 56,500 square feet, a bowling alley, a skating rink, and… a special room for gift wrapping. One of the floors was devoted entirely to Spelling’s wife’s closets and wardrobe.
And if you thought that was it, there is also a screening room, four 2-car garages, 16 carports, a tennis court, and, of course, a pool. With a parking lot for 100 vehicles, the residence was a fitting choice for a Formula 1 heiress, socialite Petra Ecclestone, who bought the house in 2011 for $85 million from Candy Spelling.
After five years of skating, Petra Ecclestone put the manse on the market for $200 million, which is $50 million more than Spelling’s asking price in 2009.
