6. Bukola Saraki and other members of the National Assembly
Nigerians are not pleased at all with the lawmakers. We cannot forget the 2016 budget padding saga. It went missing, it was later said to be padded.
The budget was passed on March 23 by the National Assembly and transmitted to Buhari who refused to give assent because of some grey areas. Certain projects such as the Lagos-Calabar rail project were omitted while others projects not proposed by the executive were added.
Also, the Senate president Bukola Saraki is on trial for alleged corruption and false declaration of assets. He has been in and out of court this year with some of his colleagues strongly lending him support.
When the 8th Senate marked its first anniversary on June 9, Nigerians had nothing good to say. They said the lawmakers have added no value to the country and are still raping the nation by collecting fat salaries and supervising the most padded budget in Nigeria’s democratic journey.
Nigerians are hoping that 2017 will be a better year and these politicians will fulfill their promises, else they will do to them what they did to the Peoples Democratic Party in 2019.
