4. Telephone Operators
Imagine spending Monday through Friday, 8 hours a day on the phone talking to people on the job. That is almost 40 hours a week of communicating. This might sound like a piece of cake for those that love talking, but it isnāt easy. If you are in sales, you have to do a lot of listening, ask questions and face rejection. That can be quite heavy on anyoneās mind after a long day of work.
There are breaks in between with the occasional 1-hour lunch, but it may not still be enough to save your sanity. Going home and complaining about your daily phone calls can be therapeutic, but also a turn-off to some men. As you step your foot out of the door at work, the baggage that comes along with being on the phone may not be easy to forget or let go of.
While a slightly different type of operator,Ā Halle Berry starred in the movie The CallĀ as a 9-1-1 operator and opened up our eyes about how one phone call and a mistake can have a negative impact on oneās mental health.
