Mbombela stadium was one of the ten stadiums that played host to the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. The 40,929 capacity stadium was one of the newly built stadiums in South Africa to host the 2010 FIFA World Cup. It has a construction cost of $140 million making it the eighth most expensive stadium in Africa. It is located in Nelspruit, South Africa.
The stadium has the same name as the Nelspruit new name, In 2009 Nelspruit was officially renamed Mbombela by the South African government.
