Without further ado, let’s take a look at some of her worst outfits. 15 Weirdest Double Denim Ever Rihanna wore this outfit in March 2013 to the launch party in London for her River Island collection. Naturally, this outfit is from said collection. When you take a closer look at it, you realize that it isn’t exactly good promotion for the clothing line. While the baggy, white, cropped T-shirt is cute and goes with everything, those jeans are atrocious. Double denim hasn’t been popular for years, but it can work if it’s two different kinds of denim. However, the key part is for these kinds of denim to be on separate items of clothing, which is certainly not the case here! It literally looks as if she’s wearing one pair of jeans over another pair, which would be impractical and uncomfortable, and this just looks ugly. Do better, RiRi! 14 Unacceptable In The ‘80s In May 2016 Rihanna performed her hit song, "Love on the Brain," at the Billboard Music Awards. Often criticized for her not-so-perfect live vocals in the past, Rihanna managed to silence every hater in the world with her impeccable performance. This was an almighty clapback to everyone who claimed that she pulled out of the Grammy’s because she lacked faith in her vocals. No fault could be found with her vocals that night, and she received unanimous praise amongst critics and on social media. On the other hand, plenty of faults could be found with her outfit that she wore on the red carpet when arriving at the event. She decided to go with a weird, ‘80s-inspired, brown suit jacket and some bizarre heels. While certain ‘80s-inspired clothes can be cool, this definitely isn’t one of them. 13 All-Denim Nightmare Rihanna was friends with the Canadian rapper/singer Drake for a long time. This friendship started out in 2009 but they sparked rumors that they were actually a couple last year. Although the public will never really know their full history, what we do know is that they’ve collaborated on several hit singles since 2010, such as "What’s My Name," "Take Care," "Too Good," and "Work." They also officially confirmed that they were a couple in 2016 on stage during the MTV VMA’s. They were seen in public a few times after that but split in October of 2016. It was during one of these outings that Rihanna wore this denim disaster. The long jacket that looks like a cape is dodgy enough on its own, but that frayed dress is something else! Not a good look! 12 Pink Cupcake In 2015, Rihanna performed at the Grammy’s along with Kanye West and Sir Paul McCartney. The trio got up on stage to perform their hit single, "FourFiveSeconds." This collaboration of theirs surprised many, especially because Rihanna and Kanye don’t seem like the kind of artists that Sir Paul McCartney would collaborate with, and also because Kanye chose to sing instead of rap like he usually does – and few were impressed with his less-than-stellar vocals. Critics were also not impressed with the dress that Rihanna wore when she arrived on the red carpet that night. That shade of pink has never been popular, and as for the style of the dress – it’s just too big and poofy! She looks like a huge pink cupcake that’s covered in too much icing and cream! 11 Denim Thigh Highs? Okay, what is going on here? This is a picture of Rihanna leaving The Drama nightclub in London in June of 2016. Now, we know that clubwear can be a bit on the bizarre side, but this just takes the cake! The whole denim thing is incomprehensible. Is she wearing denim thigh-highs? Are those Daisy Dukes underneath them? Are they, in fact, one item of clothing instead of two? If that’s the case, was it a bit awkward going to the toilet? Also, note the tacky bedazzled bit between the two shades of denim. The flowing, white top that has a tail on the back looks a bit like a cape when you think about it, so that’s also a bit weird. However, her hair and makeup are so gorgeous! 10 Ripped Tracksuit Bottoms You’ve heard of ripped jeans, now get ready for ripped – tracksuit bottoms?! That is, if you can even call these ripped, as when you think of ripped, you think of a few small holes here and there, not of a hole so big it exposes almost your entire thigh! Rihanna stepped out in August of 2015 in this pastel pink nightmare. The top and sneakers are inoffensive, but those tracksuit bottoms shouldn’t have been made! They kind of put you in mind of Christina Aguilera’s leather chaps that she wore during her "Stripped" era in the early ‘00s, except this was probably meant as a more comfortable and breathable version?! If the pants had been more normal, it would’ve been a really cute outfit, as the gold jewelry is nice, and Rihanna’s curls are to die for! 9 Marshmallow Mess Rihanna has also dabbled in acting over the years. She had minor roles/cameos in the movies Bring It On: All or Nothing , Battleship , and This Is the End . In the animated movie, Home, she took on a starring role, and she will star in Ocean’s 8, the upcoming all-female spin-off of the Ocean’s Eleven franchise. In 2017, she had a supporting role in the space opera, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets , which is based on the French SF comic series, Valerian and Laureline . Starring Cara Delevingne, the movie didn’t do that well at the box office and received mixed reviews. Rihanna wore this pink Giambattista Valli couture dress to the movie’s premiere, and it was not a good choice. It makes her look like a giant, pink marshmallow! Also, those knee-high straps on the sandals look painfully tight! 8 Brown Oversized Suit In May of 2017, Rihanna went to New York to attend the 69 th Annual Parsons Benefit at Pier 60. This is an event attended by many big names in order to raise money for scholarship funds. Rihanna was one of the three honorees, showing off her auctioning talents by raising a lot of money. She managed to raise a whopping $24,000 for tickets to her Fenty Puma fashion show at New York Fashion Week. She also gave an empowering speech to the design students present about embracing their talent and their hard work. So why did she choose to wear such an awful outfit to speak in front of a bunch of future designers? Seriously, an oversized, brown suit is not a good look. It just makes her look so shapeless! It’s also kinda weird that she decided to pair the suit with diamonds. 7 Leather Faux Pas No, no, no! Leather outfits can be amazing, especially on Rihanna, and normally, if anyone would be able to pull off head-to-toe leather, it would be her, but this leather combination is just a major faux pas. Rihanna chose to wear this outfit to the launch party for her fifth studio album, Unapologetic, in 2012. The album included many hit singles such as "Right Now" (featuring David Guetta), "Stay" (featuring MikkyEkko), "Diamonds" (penned by Sia), and "Pour It Up." What is also unapologetic is that outfit! For some reason, Rihanna decided to wear a leather cap, an oversized, leather top, and baggy, three-quarter-length, leather trousers. She just looks so awkward in this outfit! 6 Snakeskin Boots Oh dear. This is a really tacky outfit. It could be one of the tackiest outfits ever worn by Rihanna. It’s not the worst outfit worn by her, but while the others were outlandish outfits that you’d never see anyone else wearing, this actually looks like the typical outfit worn by some classless girl for a night out. And Rihanna wore this for a night out! She was seen leaving the Rose Club in London in August of 2012 wearing this outfit. The top’s fine, the skirt’s a bit on the tacky side, but those snakeskin boots have got to be one of the ugliest boots ever made. Now, we are in no way suggesting that Rihanna is one of those classless girls we mentioned earlier because she’s not, but that outfit is hideous! 5 Most Pointless Fishnets Sure, fishnets are a risky choice in general. However, they can go really well with certain outfits, and we know that Rihanna would definitely be able to rock a classic pair of fishnets and have a bunch of girls copying her. We doubt that anyone was in a hurry to copy this look! Seriously, since classic fishnets can be a pretty risky choice anyway, why would anyone want to create any kind of variation, especially one as pointless as these fishnets? They’re not much longer than her shorts, so they’re just impractical and probably uncomfortable, given the way that they dig into her thighs! The outfit actually would’ve been fine without them, it would’ve been a casual and comfortable, yet interesting outfit, ideal for performing on stage, especially when you have energetic dance routines to perform! 4 What Is Going On Here? This is just all kinds of bizarre and wrong. This is definitely one of those outfits where you stop in your tracks, take a good look, and think, ‘’What the heck is going on there?’’ Rihanna wore this dress to Clive Davis’ annual Pre-Grammy Party in 2010. This was during the era of her fourth studio album, Rated R . Rated R, had been penned after Rihanna went through what is possibly the most traumatic experience in her life. A few days before she was due to perform at the 2009 Grammy’s, she was physically assaulted by her then-boyfriend, Chris Brown. The pictures of her badly bruised face shocked the world, and Chris’ public image took a deserved nosedive (to be honest, he should’ve been blackballed!). Along with a darker sound, Rihanna’s outfits also became OTT, so that kind of explains this dress. Kind of. 3 China Shop Tracksuit What in the name of all that is holy is this??? Rihanna decided to wear this interesting outfit for a night out in early 2016. She certainly turned many heads, but for all the wrong reasons. It basically looks as if this green tracksuit was inspired by traditional Asian costumes, and in this day and age, everyone should know that cultural appropriation is never a good thing, especially when the result is as tacky as this! The top is made from green silk and the sleeves are lined with fur (what a weird combination!), the tracksuit trousers match the top and both have floral details embroidered on them. She chose some really tacky white pointy shoes, cute vintage sunnies, and a gold watch. All in all, it’s a big no-no. 2 Grey Dress And Thigh Highs Rihanna’s street style is amazing most of the time – she’ll wear eye-catching outfits that are also gorgeous and pulls them off effortlessly. This is not one of those outfits. She was pictured wearing this while out and about in New York City. Now, thigh-high boots aren’t for everyone, as they can appear a bit tacky, but Rihanna can normally work a pair of plain thigh-high boots. The trouble is that these ones aren’t plain, instead, they have gold studs all over them. Okay, they might have been passable if she wore them with a nice, plain dress. Unfortunately, this grey dress is anything but nice. The top part’s fine and it would’ve been cute had it been a bodycon dress, but those white parts on the already-odd-looking skirt truly ruined it. 1 Where’s Your Belt, Rih? Aww, look at how young and fresh-faced Rihanna is in this photo! This is way back from the start of her music career in 2005. She had just released her debut single, "Pon de Replay," from her debut album, A Girl Like Me . We are looking at one of her first major public appearances. Since she was only 17 here and had yet to find her own footing and confidence when it comes to fashion, we totally get the casual outfit. I mean, she is dressed like most girls her age during that time. What we don’t like is how low her jeans are – they’re so low that you can see her knickers!
