Skit-maker, Nasboi bows to pressure, reschedules London show that falls on election day

The United Kingdom’s I am Nasboi comedy show by Nigerian Instagram comic Naboi has been postponed.

The decision was made in response to criticism that he and comedian Basketmouth received for scheduling their performances to take place abroad on February 25, the day of Nigeria’s federal elections.

Fans had criticized both comedy performers on social media for not scheduling their comedy concerts around the election date.

Basketmouth was adamant that the festival, which is set to run through February, would proceed as planned.

However, Nasboi claimed that he did not deliberately set the event on election day and as a result, it has been postponed. A new date for the event, he said, would be revealed later.

He wrote; “Hi! Twitter fam. Trust me when i say hosting a show on Feb 25th being our Election Day isn’t deliberate. Thank you for your thoughts and comments. My event will take place later than the scheduled date. New date will be announced. Nasboi.”
