Philip Solomon, a 17-year-old student from Oyemekun Grammar School in Akure, Ondo State, has made Nigeria proud by breaking the Guinness World Record for the highest number of skips on one foot within a 30-second timeframe.
On January 24, Solomon achieved an impressive feat by completing 153 skips on a single foot in just 30 seconds, surpassing the previous record of 145 held by Rasel Islam from Bangladesh.
After a thorough verification process that lasted four months, Solomon’s record-breaking achievement was officially recognized and acknowledged on Tuesday.
Following the footsteps of his fellow student Gbenga Ezekiel from Ijapo High School in Akure, Solomon has contributed to Nigeria’s growing collection of Guinness World Records in rope skipping.
In February, Ezekiel set the world record for the highest number of skips on one leg in one minute, accomplishing an impressive 265 skips.
Inspired by Ezekiel’s achievement, Solomon, a senior secondary school three student, embarked on his own journey to break a Guinness World Record.
