This sexy starlet started her career in the film “What’s Love Got to Do with It” in 1992 portraying Tina Turner. Actually, Angela has become well known for her biographical film roles portraying real-life women. In addition to portraying Tina Turner, she has played Rosa Parks in “The Rosa Parks Story,” Voletta Wallace in Notorious,” Katherine Jackson in “The Jacksons: An American Dream,” and Betty Shabazz in “Malcolm X” and “Panther.” Bassett won a Golden Globe and earned an Academy Award nomination for her work in “What’s Love Got to Do with It.” She was the first African-American to win the Golden Globe Award in the category of Best Actress – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.
