DiCaprio got his start doing small roles on television series, including Growing Pains, and he shot into superstardom after playing incredible challenging roles in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape and The Basketball Diaries. His notoriety thanks to those roles led him to snag the title gig of Romeo in Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 Romeo + Juliet alongside Claire Danes.
