2. Jewel Ackah
Jewel is probably the first celebrity to do active politics. He recorded the first NDC song which is still used by the party. Jewel whose career was at an all time high at the time, suffered a lot with his association. He has never been able to get back to that level again. His music was shunned even on radio, his albums didn’t receive the same amount of acceptance they normally enjoy and his career just took a nose dive. In many interviews, he attributed his problem to the NDC affiliation. He tried to play it out by saying that he isn’t a member of the NDC but just an artiste who was contracted to record a song for the party. This didn’t work too as his career continued to head downhill.
