In a series of tweets today February 20, Mavin records boss has reached out to his fans in a bid to clear the air on allegations that he refused to perform with erstwhile partner D’banj on Friday, February 19 in Lagos.
At the 60th birthday celebration of Ben Murray-Bruce which held at Eko Hotel in Lagos on Friday night, the senator made a clarion call for the Oliver Twist singer and Don Jazzy to come together and work on a song once again.
He said: “Please do this for me, it is my birthday request.”
To which D’banj responded saying he is ready to do a track with the producer upon getting a beat.
He said: “Sir, I have given serious consideration to this.
“Before I came on stage, I went to Don Jazzy and asked him to join me on stage….If he (Don Jazzy) gives me a beat today, the song will be ready the next day.”
This is not the first time a public appeal will be made for both stars to come together and work on a song.
At Innocent ‘2baba’ Idibia’s 40th birthday in September, 2015, the African Queen singer made a public appeal to both entertainers to come together and work on a song together and Dban’j showed same gesture he showed yesterday.
It is now very clear that one party is in need of the collaboration than then other given their body languages, but it remains to be seen what comes out of this.
Meanwhile, following several allegations that the Dorobucci producer refused to join D’banj on stage yesterday he has expressed his side of things in the following tweets.
He explained that he had decided to take a break as an artist.
