It’s almost as if they put up this front that they are tough and aggressive because it makes them seem more respectable in the industry that they are in. But, of course, there are also those who just look aggressive and mean by default; they just happen to have that look about them that triggers your mind to tell you it’s better to keep some distance. Lady Gaga While she has quite the reputation for being a feisty singer when she’s on tour, promoting one of her many successful albums, Lady Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, is far from the persona she portrays herself to be when she’s channeling her stage name. The “Poker Face” has often stressed that when she’s not working, one can usually find her at home, cooking, and living the most simplistic life — one that even fans wouldn’t believe. You’d think that someone who portrays themselves to be this tough person would own their own house, right? Well, Gaga actually stayed with her parents until they eventually forced her to get her own place in 2011 — after all, she already had more than $100 million in her bank account. But according to Gaga, she wanted to live with her parents because she loves being around family; the people that care about her the most. Aww. 14. Serena Williams When she’s playing tennis, Serena Williams is one hell of a beast, having practically won every championship title there is. It’s gotten to the point where her fans are wanting her to compete with the men because watching her go against the women is almost too easy for Serena, who overpowers her opponent with her physique alone. But away from her defined muscles and her aggression when she’s solely focused on winning a tennis match, Williams is just another regular girl, who really tends to enjoy having a good time. She’s friends with so many people in Hollywood — most notably Beyonce, who invited her to shoot the “Sorry” video with her. To this day, Serena can’t believe she’s not only worked with Beyonce but can also consider her one of her closest friends in Hollywood. Not exactly someone who gives off this tough image, right? 13. Mel Gibson There’ve been so many scandals regarding Mel Gibson in the past ten years, it’s hard not to get the impression that this actor/director is just one mean-spirited person. And then there was the infamous falling out with his ex-girlfriend, Oksana, who accused him of physical and verbal abuse, with phone calls she ended up recording and leaking to the press so that they could see what kind of a person Mel really was. And while nobody should defend the actions of a man who doesn’t know how to respect the mother of his children, it was said at the time that Oksana was strongly trying to push Mel’s buttons to get a certain reaction out of him. But even aside from that, Gibson is one of the most charitable people in Hollywood, having donated tens of millions to endless charities throughout the years. 12. Drake Drake has been working out like crazy lately. When looking at the transition he has made from 2011 to now, it is unbelievable how big he’s gotten in a matter of five years. But don’t let his muscle gains fool you into thinking that Drake has all of a sudden become a tough guy, because he’s still the same Canadian-born artist who gets emotional every other week. The emotions he feels about women are often talked about in his songs, such as “Fire & Desire,” which instantly became a fan-favorite from the Views album that dropped earlier this year. Drake has this thing where he knows how to appeal to his hardcore rap fans and then channel his emotional side; his true side. But either way, don’t let Drake’s physique fool you into thinking he’s tougher than he actually is, because deep down, this rapper often catches himself in his feelings. 11. Lil Kim At just 1.5 meters tall, Lil Kim definitely knows how to make up for her short height, when writing songs where she portrays herself as the Queen B who isn’t scared of no other female rapper in the music industry. Those are some fighting words, but as Kim has stressed herself, she’s not scared of nobody. Her music is extremely raunchy, which has often left men with the impression that she would probably be a handful if she was to be in a relationship with them, but underneath the hardcore image is actually a rather insecure woman. Because of previous boyfriends, who would physically abuse her and compare the rapper’s skin to a European woman, Lil Kim started her journey with plastic surgery. Today, she’s unrecognizable from the person she used to be, which is pretty sad when looking back at old photos. 10. Will Smith Will Smith is an incredible actor, who has earned himself all the respect one can imagine in Hollywood. Directors are literally begging Will to work with them — he’s somewhat become the alpha-male in showbiz, who can pretty much demand any movie role he’s interested in taking on for himself, and it really doesn’t matter if someone else had already been hired. They’ll just have to be fired to make way for Will. But in his private life, things couldn’t be more different. Will leads an open marriage with his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, who has often stressed that she should never feel the need to babysit the man she’s married to. It’s believed that the only way the couple could save their marriage, after endless marriage therapy, was by opting for the idea of an open relationship, which is odd because someone who has his career so intact should have it like that in his marriage too, right? 9. The Rock While Dwayne The Rock Johnson is one hell of a man, in his private life he’s quite the softy. The Rock hasn’t gotten as far as he has just because he has an incredible physique that can easily intimidate any person in the world; he’s gotten to where he is because of his kindness. Any movie this man works on, everyone alway gushes about how great it was to be in the presence of a WWE legend, who is not only very respectful to his cast members but even takes time to have dinner and get to know them better. Kanye West While Kanye West has a reputation for being a mean-spirited guy, he’s actually quite the family man, whose friends say is one of the most approachable people they know. Kanye’s image hasn’t been the same since he made the daring move to interrupt Taylor Swift’s speech at the VMAs in 2009 — stating that the award should have gone to Beyonce, who had “the best video of all time.” People branded him as the bad guy, and this has continued throughout his career, with endless rants about how he’s just as influential as the likes of Steve Jobs and Tupac. But, under all those rants is a rather sweet guy, according to Kim Kardashian, who says that Kanye spends most of his time with his family and always likes being surrounded by her siblings because it gives off a homely feeling. Aww. 7. Khloe Kardashian Khloe Kardashian’s height alone is quite intimidating, but according to reports, this reality star is as soft as can be. On the family’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians show, Khloe is often seen yelling at her mother, Kris Jenner, before she throws the occasional tantrum over something so silly, but under all that, Khloe is actually quite the mellow person. She’s so soft inside that she even took on the responsibility to help and save her estranged husband Lamar Odom from his drug addiction downfall, that left him in a coma last year. She literally handled all of his bills and helped him find a place to stay, all while making sure that he was well taken care of. Wow, now that’s nice of her. 6. Pink Pink always has this hardcore image about her, somewhat similar to The Rock, that tends to scare people because it just comes off as so aggressive, but the singer doesn’t live up to that image when she’s at home. Though she has a tough girl persona, her husband Carey Hart, admits that his wife tends to be really child when she’s not promoting another album — they really just live a peaceful life with their daughter out in California. Pink is far from the troublemaker she was in the early 00s. Now that she’s a mom, all she wants to do is stay in the kitchen and teach her daughter how to cook. As Cary reveals, Pink hates being on tour without her daughter because it often means that she doesn’t get to see her for weeks on end, showing the world just how attached Pink is to her family. 5. Hugh Jackman He’s most known for his recurring role as Wolverine in the X-Men series, but don’t get his portrayal of a mutant mixed up with the lovely man that Hugh Jackman is said to be when he’s not filming another box office hit. Meek Mill So, pretty much everybody was under the impression that rapper Meek Mill was a tough guy, presumably because that’s the way he presented himself with his Philadelphia gangster image. Meek often rapped about never fearing another man, and how he would always protect his family over so-called friends that are only surrounding themselves with him for the sake of money and fame. Well, summer 2015 was definitely a game-changer for Mill, who would find himself in a feud with Canadian rapper Drake, who would throw out two diss tracks at the “Rico” hitmaker, over claims that Drizzy was working with multiple ghostwriters to pen his successful albums. The allegations made against Drake backfired since Meek ended up being made the fool in the situation, giving off the thought that this Philadelphia-native isn’t as tough as he looked after all. 3. Angelina Jolie Angelina Jolie may carry this persona about her that tells you not to get on her bad side, but underneath her striking look is actually quite a sweet and warm-hearted mother. It’s funny because Angie always tends to take on movie roles that are all about killing people and being totally bada*s, but in real life, she’s the complete opposite. Jolie lives a rather quiet lifestyle with her handful of children, many of which she adopted from Africa in the early years of her relationship with Brad Pitt, who infamously divorced Jennifer Aniston for the actress. It’s almost as if people get the impression that, with all the action films Angelina has starred in, she must be that same person away from the movie sets. Bryant was always focused on winning, but the media’s fascination concerning his personal life somewhat shattered that impression people had of him. Endless cheating allegations came forward; Kobe had supposedly had an affair with dozens of women behind his wife’s back. He was said to have been pleading with Vanessa Bryant for forgiveness for weeks on end — presumably because him and his wife didn’t sign a prenuptial agreement when they married, meaning she can take half of his fortune. Not so tough now, eh? 1. Ronda Rousey Ronda Rousey was constantly trash talking everybody in the field of boxing of how she is the best female boxer of all-time, even going as far as to claim that she could easily beat Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather in a match if she ever got the chance to compete against him. At the end of last year, however, all that smack talk changed when Holly Holm defeated Ronda in one of the most exciting boxing matches of all time. Ronda was left bruised and battered — her confidence was shattered, and she even made an appearance on Ellen, crying about the whole incident, stressing she’ll continue to fight for greatness. At the end of the day, this proved that, while she may look tough, she wasn’t strong enough to beat Holly — a beautiful case of someone who trash talks but couldn’t back up what they were dishing out.
