It makes everyone feel like celebrities aren’t really superhuman, super-gorgeous individuals – they’re just people like you and me who can occasionally be photographed in an unflattering pose or making an unflattering face. I mean, who hasn’t gotten tagged in an atrocious photo that showcases exactly none of your good angles? When it comes to photographs they have some modicum of control over, celebrities can easily exile all the unflattering shots, but the images that paparazzi capture are out of their control. Even Queen B herself wasn’t able to scrub those unflattering Super Bowl pictures of herself from the internet, no matter how hard her publicist tried. Celebs – they’re just like us. Lindsay Lohan To say Lindsay Lohan has gone through some struggles over the past years is an understatement, to say the least. She burst into the scene as an adorable red-head in The Parent Trap remake, and soon transitioned to squeaky clean Disney tween roles, before becoming a breakout star thanks to a little known flick by the name of Mean Girls (okay, you’ve probably heard of it – it’s so fetch). However, it seems fame was a bit too much for Lohan, and she soon started transitioning from the curvy red-headed starlet to an emaciated blonde with a plethora of addiction issues. She’s battled countless demons over the past few years, and this photo was unfortunately taken when she wasn’t exactly looking her best. We can only imagine seeing unflattering shots of yourself might encourage you to take better care of your body and mind, so perhaps La Lo was inspired to get back on track. 8. George Clooney Nowadays, George Clooney is a happily married man, showing off his super gorgeous and incredibly brainy wife Amal Clooney. However, for years and years and years, Clooney was basically Hollywood’s most notorious bachelor. He wasn’t one of the many young, interchangeable starlets who looked like they’d stepped out of an Abercrombie catalog – he was a silver fox, an older gentleman, a more sophisticated dream guy. Everyone, no matter what their age, crushed on Clooney at some point – he just had a certain je ne sais quoi . That doesn’t mean he’s completely immune to having a bad photograph taken, though – while he’s in his typical uniform of a suit with his sexy salt and pepper hair, in this shot he was captured making a pretty goofy face. Well, he’d better get used to it – now when he’s out with his wife, the cameras are often more interested in Amal and trying to capture every detail of what she’s wearing and what she looks like, so they’re probably not as interested in getting Clooney at his best angle anymore. 7. Kim Kardashian Kim Kardashian has undergone quite the evolution over the years. When she was first stepping onto the scene as a club pal to socialites like Paris Hilton, she was still trying to figure out her whole look. Then, she snagged a reality television show for her family, and was soon under the watchful eye of the camera 24/7, 365 – and when you have someone filming you pretty much all the time, you learn pretty fast how to look flawless on camera. That doesn’t mean Kim has never taken a bad picture, though – far from it. This shot, taken way back in the day when she was just a young party girl, shows Kim taking a shot of Grey Goose straight from the bottle. First of all, the party girl personality is way different than the image she portrays of herself nowadays as a haute couture hot mama. Pretty much everyone has one of these types of photos buried deep in their Facebook photo albums. Kim Kardashian, she’s just like us. 6. Rihanna We know, we know – we were as surprised as you! While Rihanna burst onto the scene as a fresh-faced teen with a little island flair in her tunes, she’s since transformed into a bad girl chameleon. She’s rocked pretty much every hairstyle under the sun, she’s not afraid to take risks when it comes to her fashion choices, and no matter what look she decides to go for, she almost always pulls it off – I mean, she’s Rihanna. If she can’t rock anything, who can? However, this photograph proves that even bad girl RiRi herself can get captured at an unflattering angle by those clever paparazzi. In this shot, she’s rocking a casual look with loose waves, a tee, a hoodie, and minimal make-up. Her skin is glowing, her hair is super shiny, and in all likelihood she probably looked super gorgeous that day. The paparazzi, however, captured her in a weird facial expression that is super unflattering. 5. Kim Kardashian, Part 2 Most celebrities, if they’re captured dining at a restaurant, are picking away at an appetizer or sipping on a drink – and there’s a very good reason for that. It’s pretty much impossible to look gorgeous, glamorous or graceful when you’re shoveling a forkful of pasta or a piece of steak into your mouth, no matter how beautiful you are. While Kim Kardashian has probably learned that by now, in this photo, taken a few years back, she was still trying to figure it all out. We love ice cream as much as the next person, and when you’re in sunny California, it’s no surprise that you’d be tempted to indulge in a little ice cream to cool down. However, the combination of the wide mouth and the bugged out eyes is not really a sexy look for her. To be honest, though, if you’ve taken as many selfies as Kim Kardashian has, you’ve probably taken enough good photos that you can pretty much just pretend the bad ones don’t exist. 4. Megan Fox On paper, it seems like a picture of Megan Fox with a skin-exposing spaghetti-strap dress licking her lips lasciviously would be an automatically super sexy picture. However, sometimes even the most gorgeous celebrity gets a shot snapped at precisely the wrong moment. In this photo, Fox looks like she should be pretty gorgeous – her hair is glossy and slicked back, her make-up is naturally, her pale gloss shows off her lips, and she’s got a huge expanse of creamy skin exposed. However, a combination of the weird tongue that seems to be licking her teeth and the closed eyes, with the one eye slightly visible, makes it seem like this shot is straight out of Jennifer’s Body rather than a photo of the foxy actress at a red carpet event. It happens to the best of us – no matter how many posing classes you’ve taken, you’re bound to get snapped at a bad angle at least once in your career. 3. Lindsay Lohan, Part 2 Poor Lindsay Lohan. When she was a rising teen starlet with flaming red hair and killer curves, she certainly made fashion missteps here and there, but photographs taken of her were usually flattering. Once she slimmed down and started struggling with personal demons and rocking the bleached blonde hair and pale look, however, it got far easier to capture a photo of her looking… well… not exactly her best. In this shot, where she’s pictured cradling what looks like an energy drink can to her chest, she’s making an insanely unflattering expression – eyes slightly rolled up, face slack, lips parted…. It’s just not a good look. It’s probably extremely tough to keep a camera-ready look on your face when you’re just walking down the street doing an errand, but photos like this prove exactly why so many celebrities try to stay paparazzi ready all the time. No one wants a picture of themselves looking like this circulating in the world. 2. Emma Watson Ah, we hate to do it to Emma Watson, because she’s normally so incredibly poised and graceful and ethereally beautiful. However, this photo proves that even the most seemingly photogenic individuals can take a bad picture from time to time. Watson is rocking statement earrings, a slicked back hairstyle, and truly bold eye make-up for this red carpet event, and in every single other photograph taken that night she probably looks absolutely flawless. In this shot, however, the photographer managed to capture her right in the midst of an expressive moment of speech, or right when she was pulling a strange face to make a certain joke in a red carpet interview. See? It happens to the best of us – even the ones who have been walking the red carpet since the age of about 11 in one of the most successful film franchises in the world. Watson probably just brushed it off, but we’re betting she’s not exactly framing this photo. 1. Anne Hathaway One of the things that every celebrity learns to do after a few years in Hollywood is to work their angles. It’s a simple byproduct of being constantly photographed and filmed – you know exactly how to downplay the features you don’t exactly love, and how to play up your best features. However, even seasoned pros can get it wrong every now and then. In this shot, Anne Hathaway is rocking a gorgeous sequinned black dress, has glossy hair, and fantastic make-up. The photographer, however, has managed to capture a shot right as she’s throwing her head back and laughing. While capturing a candid moment can be lovely, particularly for celebrities who are accustomed to posing for photo shoots, it’s just the wrong angle for Annie. Like Julia Roberts, she has a slightly larger mouth and huge grin – an endearing physical trait. In this photo, though, there’s just a lot of tooth action going on, the slim starlet has a bit of a double chin from the angle, and it’s just not a flattering shot.
