8. Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus is another one of the biggest pop stars in the world right now but not one that is likely to be remembered, despite her number of albums reaching the number one spot on the U.S. Billboard 200 and the number of albums she’s sold. In fact, you could really substitute Cyrus for any pop star from Rihanna toKaty Perry, and none of them will be remembered.
Is anyone really going to be listening to Wrecking Ball, for example, in 50 years time? Definitely not. Just like all other billboard hits out there, they all have a shelf life that makes them quickly dated and easily replaced by the next catchy tune. You can only listen to those songs so many times before you never want to hear them again. Ever. Why is that? It must be some kind of psychological phenomena. Cyrus’ latest album, Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Pets, predicts it all.
