Celebs who treat their fans like trash - Generally, the more fans (or critics) you have, the more popular you are in Hollywood. The same can be said for some situations outside of Hollywood as well. So, it would stand to reason that celebrities would want to be as nice as possible to their fans. After all, if a celebrity isn’t in demand because of a bad attitude toward fans, that means people won’t be interested in his/her next album or movie.

When Hollywood executives notice this, they are less likely to give unpopular celebrities jobs. It’s a vicious cycle that could have been avoided if the celebrity had perhaps taken the time to sign an autograph or wave to a fan.

We get it. Sometimes celebrities have bad days and don’t feel like being social. Famous people are human, too, and they’re not always in the best mood. However, when being congenial is pretty much part of your job, you’ve got to at least avoid treating your fans terribly. Surprisingly, there are a few famous people who have a hard time with this concept. Here are 10 celebrities who treat their fans terribly.

10. Tobey Maguire

Tobey Maguire, who is known for his starring role in the movie Spider-Man , has long had a reputation for not treating his fans very well. Maguire has reportedly refused to sign autographs (or anything else, for that matter) for his fans, and has even said “no” to children who recognize him from Spider-Man . In 2007, Tobey actually slapped a camera out of a fan’s hand who was trying to take a picture of him. Clearly, that could have been handled differently. Autograph Collector magazine has also named Tobey Maguire one of the worst signers, which is not exactly an honor.

9. Lea Michele

The dark-haired diva is basically famous because of her role on the FOX show Glee . Michele also got lots of media attention when her boyfriend, Cory Monteith, who also starred on Glee , died from a drug overdose.

So, it’s a little difficult to understand why she’d be so mean to her fans. After all, doesn’t she want a long and successful career? Allegedly, a few years ago, Lea Michele refused to sign an autograph for Hailee Steinfeld, who is also a young actor. Steinfeld is a teenager now, but was a young girl at the time of the incident, and burst into tears when Lea refused to give her an autograph. However, that didn’t change Michele’s mind. We can only imagine what she does to some of her other fans.

8. Cameron Diaz

Cameron Diaz, the model and actress who is known for her work in movies like Charlie’s Angels , In Her Shoes and Bad Teacher , also has a reputation for not being nice to her fans. It’s no secret that she often refuses to take pictures with her fans, and doesn’t like signing autographs. Diaz, who has previously been romantically linked to Justin Timberlake and Alex Rodriguez, was recently promoting her film Sex Tape with Jason Segel, when a fan asked to take a picture with her. Reportedly, Diaz told the fan “ If I do it for you, I’ll have to do it for everyone else,” before storming off. Clearly, this wasn’t Cameron’s finest moment. We’re guessing her husband, Benji Madden, likes his women with a little attitude.

7. Britney Spears When the Princess of Pop first gained popularity, she seemed to be very grateful to her fans for contributing to her success. However, Spears’ relationship with her fans has changed substantially in the last few years.

If you recall, Britney was stalked relentlessly by the paparazzi, particularly after her very public nervous breakdown. This has made her wary of cameras, and these days, she doesn’t like to spend too much time talking to fans. There was also a time when Britney Spears didn’t sign any autographs, refused to take pictures with her fans and didn’t want any of her fans or admirers to touch her.

6. Leonardo DiCaprio

Leonarado DiCaprio is known for his dreamy movie roles and good looks. Unfortunately, he also has a reputation for being pretty nasty to his fans. Even though DiCaprio is one of the richest actors in Hollywood, he has reportedly told fans that he won’t sign autographs unless people are willing to pay for his signature. There have also been instances in which DiCaprio has refused to pose for pictures with his fans. This is further proof that he really is a great actor, since this behavior sounds nothing like the love-struck characters he played in the films Romeo and Juliet and Titanic .

5. Justin Bieber

Few guys have tried to be a celebrity bad boy harder than Justin Bieber. No matter how many tattoos he gets, or how many times the media covers his bad behavior, Bieber is just not convincing as a troublemaker. Justin has been known to show up very late for concerts and unapologetically leave his fans waiting.

He has also refused to sign autographs for fans, and once stuck a fan’s phone down his pants because he didn’t want her to take any more pictures of him. He also made fun of one of his fan’s weight and referred to her as a “beach whale.” We’re hoping Bieber is serious about turning his image around, because his loyal fans are bound to give up on him if he continues this behavior.

4. Chris Brown

Chris Brown seemed to have gone on an “Assault Tour” a few years ago, because it seemed that he was in the news for hitting someone, getting in a fight or throwing a tantrum every few months. There was even a time when Brown physically assaulted a male fan who photo-bombed Chris when he was taking a picture with some female fans. Brown punched the man in the face and got in a fight with his bodyguard as well. Chris got a misdemeanor assault charge for the incident, and spent some time in rehab and jail for not being able to keep his hands to himself. We’re pretty sure everyone knows to wait their turn from now on when taking pictures with Brown.

3. Ariana Grande

There have long been rumors swirling that Ariana Grande is a diva when she’s not in front of the camera or performing at a concert. She’s also been known to only want to be photographed on one side of her body and to offer half-hearted apologies when she offends people.The rumors were somewhat confirmed at the Video Music Awards a couple of years ago when a fan got her attention. Grande stated that the fan gave her a picture with her grandfather in it (her grandpa had recently passed away). Ariana didn’t want to be seen crying, so she brushed the fan off and rushed to get out of the crowd before signing autographs or talking to more fans. We’re pretty sure there was a better way to handle that, but we can understand that when you’re a celebrity, getting emotional in front of your fans could turn into yet another unwanted news story.

2. Kanye West

Kanye West could probably use a little help in the humility department. After all, he’s made it very clear that he’s a “genius” and he, like most rappers, boasts about having a hot woman on his arm and millions to spare.

West also got some unwanted media attention when he assaulted a member of the paparazzi for trying to take pictures of him at an airport. Recently, West, who has definitely grown in popularity since his marriage to Kim Kardashian, was asked by some fans at the Super Bowl to take some pictures. He responded with a completely annoyed look, and apparently this isn’t the first time he’s blown fans off. We’re not surprised.

1. Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian is often referred to as the celebrity who is “famous for being famous.” She doesn’t sing (even though she did release a single a while back), doesn’t act (very well) and isn’t exactly known for doing good in the world. She and her sisters have a clothing store called Dash that is based in California, and they’ve embarked on several business deals as a result of their fame. So, we’re guessing that counts for something. Still, that’s no excuse to be rude to fans. In a voicemail to her ex-husband, NBA player Kris Humphries, she referred to some of her fans as “imbeciles” and “nobodies.” Are these the same “nobodies” who have been following Kim since her sex tape? Or are these the “imbeciles” who tune in to Keeping Up With The Kardashians on a weekly basis and keep the ratings up? Either way, it’s probably time for Kim to learn how to be more gracious to their fans.
