Four staff members of ZEFA Microfinance Bank were arrested after one of them pushed a debtor’s wife, leading to her death.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer in Ogun state, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, “Trouble started when the bank staffers visited the home of the deceased to ask for the payment of a loan taken from the bank by the deceased’s husband but they were told that the man was not at home.”
Not satisfied with the explanation, the bank staff began to pack all the electronics in the house to take back to their office.
When the wife resisted, one of the staff pushed her and she fell unconscious. She was rushed to the hospital but was later confirmed dead.
The suspects, Badmus Olalekan, Ajibade Oludare, Eniola Aduragbemi, and Femi Oloko, were arrested on Wednesday and have been transferred to the Homicide section of the state Criminal Investigation Departments for further investigation.
