Nollywood actor and movie producer Ibrahim Chatta has recently addressed the issue of not receiving an invitation to the 9th edition of the AMVCA (Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards).
During an interview with an Ibadan radio station, Ibrahim Chatta expressed his disappointment at not being invited to the prestigious award ceremony.
Despite this, he clarified that he is not bothered by the lack of acknowledgment, acknowledging that there are numerous actors in the industry who are more talented than him.
However, his primary concern lies in the fact that while his junior colleagues receive invitations to the ceremony, he does not. Ibrahim Chatta questioned the reason behind this discrepancy.
Nonetheless, Ibrahim Chatta emphasized that he does not allow this issue to affect him greatly, as his ultimate focus is set on achieving an Oscar, an international recognition he aspires for.
In his words;
“I always thought my work wasn’t good enough but I see my younger colleagues who score an invite to the event.“
“I don’t want any award to limit me cause I am aiming for the Oscars. If I am focusing on not being nominated at AMVCA, I can lose focus”.
