Davido Adeleke, a well-known Afrobeat singer, recalls how, as a child, he was able to secure a lucrative endorsement deal with one of Nigeria’s largest telecom companies.
In a recent interview, the artist stated that MTN was a new telecom provider in Nigeria at the time.
Davido claims that he was 17 at the time and had written two popular songs, putting him in the brand’s intended audience.
The musician, who recently released his fourth studio album, revealed that MTN once offered him a N20 million endorsement deal.
He was able to write more songs with the money from the deal, which also aided in the debut of his first album.

Meanwhile, Temitope Adekunle, better known as Small Doctor, a popular Nigerian singer, has revealed that he does not consume alcohol or smoke substances of any kind.
He made the revelation during an interview on Beat FM in Lagos, noting that he never engaged in any of those vices even before becoming famous.
