IK Ogbonna has reminisced about the support he received from his fellow Nollywood actors during the loss of his mother and her funeral.
The actor, who has a light complexion, had announced the sad news of his mother’s death in January.
A month after the funeral, he expressed gratitude to his colleagues for their assistance during that difficult time, particularly his close friend Alexx Ekubo.
IK Ogbonna acknowledged that it was one of the saddest days of his life, but he was heartened by the fact that some of his friends were able to bring a smile to his face.
The actor noted that due to a shooting incident between unidentified gunmen and the police, many of the guests who were invited to the funeral turned back. However, some individuals braved the storm and came to offer their support to IK Ogbonna during his moment of grief.
The actor expressed his appreciation to all those who showed up and also thanked those who were unable to attend the funeral.
He wrote:
“On one of the saddest days of my life. A few friends came through to put a smile on my face. A lot of guests turned back because of the shootout between UGM and the police. But these men and women came through the storm and I appreciate you all. I also want to appreciate those that couldn’t make it; I pray my state can at least give us an airport.
“I also had a solid support group that couldn’t come in person. But did everything possible to make sure my mother was laid to rest peacefully. God bless you, I can’t list out ur names here but I am eternally grateful.
@alexekubo and @vintagedeluxeinteriors, may God bless you for me; you were there from day one until my mother was laid to rest and afterward. You are my brother for life.
REST IN PEACE SWEET MOM”.
