Nigerian singer and songwriter, Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, aka Skales has said he and his family now live under perpetual fear following the recent invasion of his residence by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
It may be recalled that Skales raised the alarm weeks ago that operatives of the anti-graft agency broke into his house in the middle of the night and wrongly accused him of being a fraudster.
Skales scared for life
Skales had cried out during the latest episode of the Terms & Conditions podcast, saying that he has been receiving threats since his outburst.
The ‘Shake Body’ crooner who said his life is no longer safe, however, noted that he is still moving about freely because he is “clean.”
According to Skales, the EFCC operatives did not have a search warrant, which meant that they were on an illegal operation.
He lamented over how the commission now uses its power to oppress people. The singer also revealed that his artiste, who was arrested during the raid, is still in custody.
Skales said; “The EFCC operatives that invaded my house didn’t have a search warrant. Obviously, they were illegal. My problem with the EFCC guys is not even the fact that they are not doing what they were paid for.
“They are now using the power to oppress people. They are oppressing me right now. I am scared for my life, I won’t lie to you. I’m scared but at the same time, I know I’m clean, that’s why I’m moving around.”
