Unknown armed bandits have kidnapped 55 wedding guests, including women going along with a newlywed bride, in the Sabuwa area of Katsina State.
The bandits hijacked the convoy last Thursday, targeting an open van carrying the bride and her escorts.
According to a reliable source, unknown gunmen believed to be responsible for the abduction, have already killed at least four members of a vigilante group that attempted to come to the aid of the victims during the assault.
The bandits, who are demanding a staggering N100 million ransom, have now rapidly increase their threats.
In a video currently making waves on social media, the gunmen, one of whom was putting on a police uniform, can be seen threatening to sell the abducted women if the ransom is not paid on time.
The alleged gang leader claimed he his responsible for the kidnapping and dared anyone to try and rescue them.
In his words:
“I am the one who abducted them, and I will never release them until ransom is paid. And if there is anyone who thinks they could rescue them, they should try it.”
