3. Amodu Shuaibu
The NFF announced the death of its technical director, Amodu Shuaibu via a series of Tweets on Saturday, June 11.
Sources revealed that the four-time coach of the Super Eagles complained of chest pains on the night of June 10 and died in his sleep. Before then, he drove himself in the afternoon to drop his friend with his car. He was discovered dead about 4am this morning.
The late Amodu has always contributed his quota to the development of football in Nigeria.
Under his stewardship, Nigeria qualified for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa butAmodu was sacked despite the team’s third-place finish at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.
