4. Claire And Jamie – Outlander
You can see why Outlander has grown so much in popularity since it first appeared back in 2014: it combines irresistible fantasy elements with a historical setting, channelling Game Of Thrones’ popularity in both tone and commitment to rampant sexuality.
In comparison to the rip-roaring, baby-making shenanigans of the first season the second was a fairly muted affair, with far less sex scenes in light of Jamie being tortured and raped by Black Jack and feeling like less than a man. Eventually, after admitting his anxieties, he reconciled with Claire who took it upon herself to soothe his fears by seducing him in the middle of the night, challenging him to “Come find me, Jamie. Find us.”
It was tender and beautiful and it gave fans a pay-off they’d waited quite some time for.
