Nigerian music producer, Don Jazzy recently disclosed in an interview with BBNaija’s Doyin that he deeply regrets the fight he had with his colleague, Olamide during the 2015 Headies awards.
It is worth recalling that, at the 2015 Headies Awards, MAVIN’s Reekado Banks won the Next Rated Artiste Category, which did not sit well with Olamide.
When his artist, Adekunle Gold, won the award for Best Alternative Act for his song, Shade, Olamide made his displeasure known by climbing the stage with his entire YBNL team.
He took the microphone and said: “Lil Kesh is our Next Rated artist. Screw that! The streets will take over. Every damn single was a hit back to back. From ‘Lyrically’ to ‘Shoki’ to ‘Efejoku.’ It’s not for anybody’s mother.”
This resulted in a fight between Don Jazzy and Olamide.
Nonetheless, Don Jazzy has admitted to regretting the brawl as soon as he left the stage and has apologized to everyone involved.
