Halle Berry has been in the business a long time. As of 2015, she is the only woman of color to win an Oscar for a leading role, which she won in 2002 for her performance in Monster’s Ball. During the 2000s, she was one of the most sought-after and highly-paid actresses in Hollywood. Before becoming an actress, she was a model, known for her sharp features, perfect nose, and winning smile.
Berry was the 1st runner-up in a Miss USA Pageant, and 6th in Miss World Pageant in 1986. Beginning in 2000, she gained high-profile roles, such as that of Storm in the X-Men series, a Bond girl in Die Another Day (2002), and in the action crime thriller Swordfish (2001), where she posed topless at one point.
Berry is an activist for clean air, for women’s issues in education, justice, and health, and in support of protecting celebrities’ children from harassment from paparazzi. She was ranked #1 on People’s “50 Most Beautiful People” in 2003, at the age of 37, and was #1 on FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women list that same year. Before that, she had appeared in FHM’s top 10 seven times, and since then, five more times. At age 42, Access Hollywood named her the “Sexiest Black Woman,” in 2008. She is worth $80 million.
