27. Phyno – Connect
Phyno fino, one of Nigeria’s heavy weights and Penthauz’ finest, can almost never go wrong on song. Phyno put out this bodacious tune to let haters know that they cannot mess with his “Connect”. He switches up his style on this, and pretty much sings throughout, but did it really matter? The song talks about his struggle and how he’s made it so far. Haven risen to the top and fraternizing with top dogs in the game, you definitely cannot mess with Phyno’s connect.
26. Lil Kesh Ft Viktoh – Efejoku
When Shoki (Remix) featuring Olamide and Davido came out, it became an instant hit and a lot of music critics felt that was the best of Lil Kesh. Lil Kesh has certainly put his haters to shame with back to back releases. Efejoku is one amongst Lil Kesh’s hits that has successfully gained acceptance. The rumbustious track features label mate Viktoh and produced by Young John (the wicked producer). The YBNL camp is well known for their infectious tunes and catchy clichés.
25. Banky W – High Notes
Banky W has attained legendary status as far as the Nigerian music industry is concerned. Well that’s argument for another day. Back to business; High Notes came out at a time when we were almost thinking Banky was done with music. He unlocked this sonic tune, raising the bar for everyone in the industry. What’s really intriguing about Banky is how he switches from singing to rap like it was nothing. “They say all men are dogs, I said I’m a different pedigree”, Banky sure puts a lot of rappers to shame.
