Richard Mofe-Damijo RMD is a Nigerian famous actor, his career in Nollywood started in the late 1990s. He was also the former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism of Delta State. Richard is popular for playing major roles in movies and drama series, he has featured in dozens of films. RMD has won a number of awards including the 2005 Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, as well as a Life Time Achievement Award. The veteran actor is regarded as Nigeria’s hottest grandpa not only for his handsome looks but also for his grooming and charisma. He is currently the COE of RMD Production Limited and produces his own drama series, The Mr. X Family Show.

Richard Mofe-Damijo was born on July 6, 1961, in Aladja community of Udu Kingdom, Delta State. Growing up in his hometown, he attended Midwest College in Warri and then finished at Anglican Grammar School where he was a member of the Drama Club.
After secondary school, RMD gained admission into the University of Benin to study Theatre Arts. He decided to pursue a degree in Law at the University of Lagos in 1997 and later graduated in 2004.
RMD was joggling between his studies and acting career. While he pursued a degree in Law from 1997 to 1999, he featured as one of the lead actors in films like Hostages, Scores to Settle, Diamond Ring, Freedom, and Out of Bounds – the first film he wrote and produced.
Meanwhile, he appeared in a television soap opera, Ripples in late 80’s and had a stint with Metro Magazines and Concord Newspapers as a reporter. He played major roles in thirteen movies in 2003 alone including Romantic Attraction, alongside co-stars Chioma Chukwuka, Stella Damasus-Aboderin, and Zack Orji.
