3. Ali Farka Touré (2 Grammys)

Ali Ibrahim “Farka” Touré was a Malian singer and multi-instrumentalist, and one of the African continent’s most internationally renowned musicians. His collaborative album with Ry Cooder in 1994 earned him his first Grammy award, while another collaborative effort with Toumani Diabete got him his second Grammy award.
