9. Bashar Al-Assad

Known as a horrible and inconsiderate leader, Bashar Al-Assad deprived the citizens of Syria of their basic necessities. He was also seen to be a part of violent repressions. He ran unopposed in the 2007 presidential election, and his secret police force (the Mukhabarat) has routinely disappeared, tortured, and killed political activists.
