Cristiano Ronaldo Awards:
In January 2014, the Portugal President, Anibal Cavaco Silva awarded Cristiano Ronaldo the rank of ‘Grand Officer of the Order of Prince Henry’ at a prestigious ceremony held at the Belém Palace. The President stated that, “It is an award to distinguish a world renowned athlete who has been a symbol of Portugal globally, contributing to the international projection of the country and setting an example of tenacity for the future generations.”
Back in April 2014, it was Cristiano Ronaldo whose name was placed in Time Magazine’s annual list of ‘most influential people in the world’, called the TIME 100. Cristiano and his Russian model girlfriend Irina Shayk appeared on the front cover of Vogue’s Spanish edition in May 2014.
Cristiano Ronaldo is the record holder of being the most expensive footballer in the football history from 2009 to 2014 and also became the first footballer to reach 40 professional league goals for two consecutive seasons. In last couple of years in football, he met an immense success and became the FIFA Ballon d’Or winner for consecutive two times, 2013 and 2014. According to IFFHS, he is the World’s Best Top Goal Scorer. Cristiano was honored by the ESPY Awards for Best International Athlete in 2014 and UEFA European Best Player Award for an incredible 2013/14 season.
He marked his name in the UEFA Champions League Team of the season for 2013/14 football season and named as LFP Best Forward, LFP Best Player and LFP Best Goal for 2013/14 season. In 2014, Cristiano Ronaldo has become the BBC Overseas Sports Personality of the year.
