Nick Jonas
Type I Diabetes. Like Hall, Nick Jonas is living and thriving with Type I Diabetes. In an interview with Family Circle, Jonas discussed his diagnosis, saying that, “When I was 13 and on tour with my brothers, I lost 15 pounds in two weeks and was thirsty all the time. I also had a bad attitude—which was rare for me. My parents took me to a doctor, and we learned that my blood sugar was dangerously high. I was rushed to a hospital, where they made the diagnosis.”

Nick Jonas, Type I Diabetes. Jonas made a splash in 2014 with his new, chiseled physique. Jonas told Men’s Fitness that, when it comes to exercise and diabetes, “ It’s really about just staying on top of it and managing every detail. I had to work with my doctor, making sure all my numbers were good and that I wasn’t putting too much stress on my body working out as much as I was. When I work out, my blood sugar goes up. But then about an hour and a half later it drops down low. So, post-workout I would have to not only have protein to rebuild muscle but also carbs to sustain my blood sugar. So when I cut a lot of carbs out of my diet, I had to be conscious of that.”
