8. Jamie Brewer
Most of you recognize this next lady from the groundbreaking television show American Horror Story. Brewer, who is thirty years old, is not only on a hit television show, she has also become the first model with down syndrome to walk in a New York Fashion Week show. Although Brewer has no intention of pursuing a career in modeling, she couldn’t give up the opportunity to walk in Carrie Hammer’s “Role Models Not Runway Models” campaign. This was a huge step forward for the fashion industry. Jamie Brewer is known as being an inspiration to the down syndrome community but she is also becoming an inspiration to the world at large.
