19 “The Notebook”
“The Notebook” is a movie that’s perfect for watching by yourself while soaking your pillow with endless tears, but it also works pretty well watching it on a first date, too. Despite the fact that it’s not the oldest movie, “The Notebook” solidified itself as a classic on the date-night forefront very quickly. Its got the love, loss, Ryan Gosling, and everything in between, and it’s an automatic choice for a first date.

18. “Toy Story”
Who says date movies have to be serious? Throwing “Toy Story” on the screen is a no-brainer if you know that your date loves Disney films, and you’ll also get to relive your younger years while relishing in the extreme nostalgia together. The humor here is still smart and enjoyable, and the misty-eyed moments are just as strong as ever. If your date has a problem with “Toy Story,” then it’s a good way to figure out they probably aren’t worth dating.
