16. “Garden State”
One of the most essential parts to any movie is its soundtrack, but it counts for double when it comes to the perfect date movie. You don’t want a boring and dull movie score throughout — you want something memorable, something that complements the mood the both of you share while watching every scene. This is where Garden State comes in. The romantic-drama shines in its ability to translate emotion into sound and it’s something you’ll appreciate when the end credits hit.

15. “Moonrise Kingdom”
Film director Wes Anderson has proven time and time again that he’s the master of originality, and “Moonrise Kingdom” is his magnum opus in this department. The 2012 film is about two 12-year-olds who have fallen in love in the 1960’s and decide to run away. The plot is simple but imaginative, and the innocence of the two children is a delight to share with somebody on the first date.
