10. “Annie Hall”
There are many like it, but none quite as special. “Annie Hall” redefined the romantic-comedy back in 1977, and even though it was released forever ago, it still holds up really well today. It’s one of Woody Allen’s best films and it’s regularly regarded as one of the best comedies of all-time. All in all, it’s an essential date movie with a realistic take on the modern relationship and one to marvel at.
9. “Say Anything”
The whole “holding a jukebox above your head outside of someone’s window” trick is a legendary romantic move. At least in the movies. Chances are, you haven’t had the chance to do this with your new flame yet in real life — but that’s ok. Use “Say Anything” to gauge their reaction when they see it. In all seriousness, “Say Anything” is as good as a love story as it gets and you won’t regret it if it’s the movie you decide to go with on a first date.
