It can be baffling when you consider that Kylie Jenner, just eighteen years old, has more than 36 million followers on Instagram. While Kylie may get grief for being famous “for doing nothing,” she does put her buzzed-about Instagram to good use: lots and lots of selfies.

Here, we’re counting down Kylie’s most recent can’t-miss outfit posts on Instagram. We’ve got the good, the bad, and the ugly, but one thing’s for sure: they’re shocking. If you’re one of the millions admiring Kylie’s “Outfit of the day” selfies, it might just be time to trade in the khakis for ripped jeans and a t-shirt for that fur bra you’ve been eyeing (we kid) – Kylie knows best.

10. That time she wore cable-knit undies The only thing we can depend on is to be surprised by this eighteen year old superstar. It looks like Kylie can depend on cable knit briefs to keep her tush warm. Plain cotton underwear are simply too basic for this Californian goddess. To top this ensemble off, we have a suede claw-like “top” with sheer overlay that does anything but leave a lot to the imagination.

The outfit, complete with a white fur coat and gold strappy sandals definitely makes Kylie look pool-side ready…. Or maybe not. This original, hard-to-wrap-our-heads-around look lands at number 10.

9. That time she wore a baseball hat Much like her half-sister Kim, Kylie likes to favor a monochromatic look in her outfits. Often wearing all gray, black, or brown, Kylie recently switched to a more pure look: all white. In this “sporty” street style, Kylie pairs white lace-up boots, front-seam pants, low-cut tank top, and a baseball cap in one of her infamous mirror selfies.

Kylie sets off the white look with her new, turquoise hair and a gold watch. Perhaps the most odd part of this figure-hugging outfit is what the hat says: It appears to say “DAD” in black, capital letters. Perhaps a nod to her dad (mom?), Caitlyn Jenner, and all (s)he’s been through lately? Home run, Kylie.

8. That time she looked like a bar code A more formal ensemble for the master of fashion, this look highlights many preferences of the young star. Normally, Kylie sticks to skin-tight, bandage style dresses to accentuate her barely legal curves. Here, Kylie took it a step further by incorporating on-trend cut outs across her torso. The black, striped all-over effect resulted in an ensemble reminiscent of a recent trip to the grocery store.

Kylie completed the barcode-esque outfit with a black wig and nude, strappy sandals (another go-to KJ). The wig was all it took to send the outfit into the over-the-top territory Kylie relishes being in. Just be careful about the laser from the product scan on that barcode!

7. That time she wore your grandma’s potholder We know couture, hand-made pieces are all the rage in fashion right now, but does it extend to household items? Kylie wore a very doily-inspired mini dress to the VMAS and made lots of headlines. The departure from her usual skin-tight dresses was shocking and her fans were none too happy about it.

To make matters more complicated, Kylie sported the same black wig from outfit #8 that landed her with an unflattering nickname: Many fans have since nicknamed the famed black wig “Lord Farquaad” thanks to its resemblance to the Shrek character. Kylie doesn’t seem to mind, as she’s photographed wearing wigs all the time now.

Two, Kylie debuted her cornrows which further sparked an ongoing debate about cultural appropriation.

Whether or not you agree with Kylie’s cultural standing, we can all agree that cornrows are a much more practical swimming choice than snakeskin sneakers or cable knit underwear. Not to be outdone, Kylie complete the otherwise suitable beachwear ensemble with a heavy metal choker and gold watch.

4. That time she looked like a sexy bride Kylie debuted this take on the ever-popular matching skirt and crop top trend at the #seriouslypopular part in Cannes with her mom, Kris Jenner. The outfit, made of mostly sheer, white lace, immediately evoked the sounds of “Here Comes the Bride.” One Instagram follower posted, “Is she getting married???” Another user wondered if there was something Kylie “wasn’t telling” her fans.

While this sheer outfit may seem shocking as a wedding dress, it’s one of Kylie’s most subdued red carpet looks to date. Paired with sleek, polished hair and light pink nails, Kylie looked every bit the social media princess she is.

3. That time she wore an extremely sexy patriotic outfit What do you even call this outfit? It looks like a dress, but is it a dress? Is it lingerie? Is it a costume? Whatever the case may be, Kylie showed some unusual patriotism in this red and white outfit paired with blue lipstick. It looks like the dress is made of reflective panels and white fabric, giving it the illusion of electricity.

The dress also offers cut outs down the entire length with only a thin panel of fabric covering Kylie’s bellybutton and nether region. The bust of the dress is definitely the most eye-popping, but we’ll just leave it at that.

Much of the public was unaware of just how young Kylie was when she broke on the fashion scene in that revealing maroon dress at the AMA’s in 2014. With Kylie’s Instagram popularity and abundance of racy selfies, the countdown to her eighteenth birthday ensued.

To acknowledge the famed day herself, Kylie posted this photo on her Instagram. Kylie was ready to embrace her adulthood status and this drenched photo is her evidence. One Instagram follower could only quote Uncle Jesse as he commented, “LORD HAVE MERCY.”

Kylie used the tiger accessory to accessorize a daring down-to-there body suit, striped pants, a statement belt, and her signature tawny pout.
